Inquiry #2: Bid item #8 Channelizer (Surface Mounted) indicates being used in the traffic handling plans during construction. Using a surface mounted channelizer on dirt is not realistic, it will not attach to the dirt. Wouldn't it be better to have a portable delineator item for this traffic delineation work?

Inquiry #7: The Streambed Alteration Permit, Section 2.1, says that the work period within stream/riparian corridor shall be confined to the period of June 1 to October 30. Since most of the Stage 1 and stage 2 drainage work on this project occurs within existing "streams", either in culvert extensions or culvert reconstructions, does this mean that most, if not all, drainage work in these stages can not begin until June 1?

Inquiry #8: There appears to be a conflict between the drainage plan, profile and summary of quantities for Drainage System 4. Plan sheet D-2 indicates that System 4 is made up of segments A thru H. Profile on DP-2 indicates the system is made up of segments A-J adding a concrete collar and 149.7 feet of 83"X 57" CSPA. Drainage Quantity sheet DQ-1 indicates the system is made up of segments A-I.

Please clarify what work is actually included in this system.

Inquiry #9: As a followup to BI #8, it seems DS 4C needs to be clarified. The existing crossing is shown as a 66" X 42" box culvert and we are connecting to it with a double 66" X 42" box culvert. On the other end we are connecting to the existing box culvert with an 83" X 57" CSPA. You also show us installing Box Culvert Wingwalls (Type D) with quantities in DQ table that are too high for a Type D wingwall. Also, the profile for DS 4 seems to show us constructing retaining walls instead of headwalls. Can Caltrans review DS 4 and clarify this drainage installation?
