Response #1:(BI#1)-All the details required to build the concrete barrier type 85 (mod), bicycle railing and the architectural treatment are included in the Structures plan set (sheets 18-21).
There should be no need to include the 3 unmodified sheets (xs16-117-1, xs16-117-2,xs16-117-3). The first 2 sheets were modified and included in the plan set (sheets 18 and 19), and the third sheet was replaced with sheet 21 for the tubular bicycle railing. Sheet 20 is for the architectural treatment of the barrier.

Inquiry #2: What is the application rate for the Organic Fertilizer listed in the Erosion Control Legend (ECL-1) under the Erosion Control Type 1 table (sheet 40 of 122)? 5-3-2 is a fertilizer formulation.

Response #1:(BI#2)-Your attention is directed to the Contract Special Provision 20-1.01D(3) Soil Testing. The application rate shall be as recommended by the soils test a described in Special Provision 20-1.01D(3). The N-P-K values shown on ECL-1 will be superseded by the recommended design modifications per the soils test.

Inquiry #5: Along the shear pile wall location in drawing L-2 it shows drilling through the existing EPS block system. It is also shown again on sheet 85 and appears to be well away from the new wall alignment. Will there be drilling through the foam block system?

Response #1:(BI#5)-Yes, Caltrans is aware that drilling will be done through the EPS Block system. Yes, there will be drilling through the foam (EPS) blocks. Geotech and Structural are fine with this and aware of the issue. Bid as per current contract documents.

Inquiry #7: Chart No. K1 indicates the maximum length of closure when using signal system is 1500 LF. Stage 1 and 2 closures shown on stage drawings are longer that 1500 LF. Please clarify.
