Inquiry #2: We are an equipment supplier. This project requires Vertically Mounted, Multi-Stage, In Line Pumps for potable water and non-potable water. These pumps are also required to be NSF/ANSI-61 & NSF-61 Annex G which is essentially certification that materials in contact with the water is free of lead and other harmful constituents. Our pumps are certified to meet NSF/ANSI-61 & NSF-61 Annex G.
Section 221113 2.1 B 3 requests 316 stainless steel impellers, which will drive up your cost substantially. 304 stainless steel is more common for pumps. Both steels are durable and provide excellent resistance to corrosion and rust. 304 stainless steel is the most versatile and widely used austenitic stainless steel in the world, due to its corrosion resistance. Unless the potable water is highly corrosive, 304 stainless steel will work fine and we warranty the pumps for the application using 304 stainless steel. Will you accept 304 stainless steel ?
Thanks !
