Inquiry #2: The quantity for Shoulder Backing appears extremely excessive for the areas shown on the Typical Cross Sections and Summary of Quantities sheets, particularly when taking into account for the areas covered with Vegetation Barrier. Can you please confirm the quantity of Shoulder Backing?

Inquiry #5: Are all of the new 30" holes outside of the limits of wall 305 pile and concrete backfill as shown on sheet 68, so that the 30" holes can be drilled prior to wall 305 pile removal without conflict?

Response #2:(BI#5)The majority of the new 30” drilled holes can be drilled prior to removing the existing wall, but around station 402+50 +/- the existing wall pulls closer to the new ground anchor wall. At this location, the contractor will need to verify the location of the existing wall prior to drilling the new 30” hole. -

Inquiry #6: Please provide a bid item for Class 1 Permeable Material (Type B).

Detail A on sheet 75 does not provide enough information to identify the top elevation of the 3' perm drain in the transition sections of the wall. Please clarify.

It appears that the top elevation of the 1' section of the perm drain is FG - 1.0'. Please confirm.

Response #2:Permeable material is not a separate bid item. It is included in the underdrain, covered in Section 68-2 of the Standard Specs.

The 3’ permeable base transition starts 1’ above the waler. This is shown in Detail A. Please refer to Addendum #2 dated June 18, 2021.
