Inquiry #4: If this job is awarded by the end of May, both our major building manufacturers are predicting building delivery late October & November1st. We can't predict successful site steel painting that late in the season. Will you revise this project to allow for both galvanized primary and secondary so that the frames don't require paint on-site? Both building manufactures won't ship steel with more than their shop prime coat.

Inquiry #5: Section 7-1.02K(6)(j)(iii) references unregulated earth material. In that section it states, "Haul and place the surplus excavated material on the right-of-way at the Hat
Creek Maintenance Station at a location specified by the Engineer. "

Where is the location on-site ?

Can I assume no spoils will be hauled off-site ?

Inquiry #6: Part of Section 5-1.13 A of the standard specification states, " Except for a building-construction non-federal-aid contract, perform work equaling at least 30 percent of the value of the original total bid with your employees and with equipment you own or rent, with or without operators."

Inquiry #7: Section 99-03300 B (1) "Concrete mixes," requires 590 LBS/CY for Concrete (Structural Work) however; the note below states, for concrete designated by compressive strength, the maximum amount of cementitious material must be 800 pounds per cubic yard.
In addition, the concrete for structural work has to be as per section 90-1.02I Concrete in Freeze-Thaw Areas and section 90-1.02I(2)(a) states, The concrete must contain at least 590 pounds of cementitious material per cubic yard unless a higher cementitious material content is specified.
Please confirm the mass of cement in pounds for your project ?

Samples for Verification:
For each type of exposed finish required, prepared on samples of size indicated below must be submitted to the Engineer at the job site.
1. Metal Wall Panels: Standard 8 feet to 32 feet long by actual panel width. Include fasteners, closures, and other metal wall panel accessories. Include four-way joint for composite panels.
2. Metal Roofing Panels: Standard 8 feet to 50 feet long by actual panel width. Include fasteners, closures, and other metal wall panel accessories.
3. Trim and Closures: 30 feet long. Include fasteners and other exposed accessories.
4. Accessories: 30 feet long samples for each type of accessory.

These sample sizes seem excessive. Please confirm these are required and need to be approved prior to fabrication.

Inquiry #15: Please provide a basis for design (manufacturer/model) for the wall and roof insulated metal panels. We can find no panels that meets all of the criteria listed in the special provisions. Specifically, the profile/shape, width, gauge, standing seam (for Roof only) and finish (G90).

Inquiry #16: Drawing sheets ST1-1 and sheet ST1-5 indicate a crushed stone floor inside the building.
Drawing sheet ST1-2 shows the building section with crushed stone 6 inch thick at the footing foundation and slightly deeper in the middle of the building.
Figure 2 of page 3 of the foundation report indicates 1 foot of asphalt.
Will all of the asphalt have to be removed?

Inquiry #18: G90 for the insulated metal panels may require the purchase of a master coil. This would most likely put the project over budget. The current industry standard is Galvalume (AZ50). The warranty and performance is on par. Is Galvalume acceptable in lieu of G90?
