Inquiry #1: Item 16 calls for the stripe removal to be water blasted. This project is a remove and replace striping project and the stripe removal is for surface preparation. Grinding is far more efficient and cost effective and does an excellent job of preparing the surface for thermoplastic installation.Water blasting will create a number of unnecessary problems, the wet surface will either not allow stripes to be replaced on the same shift or will drastically reduce the amount of striping that can be replaced and or installed temporarily resulting in additional days of work and unnecessary delays to the motoring public. Please consider changing item 16 to item code 846030 remove thermoplastic traffic stripe.

Inquiry #2: In reference to 84-2.02E for thermoplastic stripes and pavement markings with enhanced wet-night visibility. The white and yellow markings are addressed for minimum wet-night reflective values. Concerning the interstate shield pavement markings which include the red and blue colors,- we are unaware of any enhanced wet-night system that addresses those colors. Please clarify..
