Inquiry #2: Is the excavation shown on sheet ECL-1 paid for under the roadside clearing item? What is the specification for the backfill material to replace the excavated material? This is a massive amount of excavation and backfill.

Yes, the excavation on ECL-1 is paid for under roadside clearing. Your attention is directed to section 20-1.03C(1) of the Special Provisions for information regarding the removal of existing plants.

Your attention is directed to the Roadway Excavation Table on plan sheet Q-1 for information regarding potential backfill material.

Inquiry #3: Looking at the G2 inlet on drainage plan D-4 drainage system 8 structure d. On the drainage quantities DQ-2, the structure shows no type of grate to use and the weight does not match any of the standard grate specs for Caltrans. Need to know the type of grate needing to be used, there is no grate with 498 lbs.
