Inquiry #4: Abutment 2 Details (sheet 73 of 90) and Rock Anchor Details (sheet 75 of 90), the wing wall with rock anchor is poured in one pour. How does the state suggest we install and stress the rock anchors without using some form of shotcrete wall prior to pouring the wing wall? Please provide a detail showing the thickness of the shotcrete and then the thickness of the wing wall, and add a bid item for shotcrete.

Rock anchors should not be stressed. Reference is directed to section 46-4.03C of the Special Provisions, “Hand tighten the nut on the end of the production rock anchor bar before the initial set of the grout. Make the nut wrench tight after the grout has set for 24 hours, unless a shorter time is authorized.”

Inquiry #8: Inquiry #2 is asking what details are to be used for the NEW MGS guardrail on CIDH piles. C-6 does not have details for what we are to use for the new guardrail installation. Are we to assume that we will reinstall the rail on the existing piles and they will be protected in place during construction?

Inquiry #9: The MGS Quantity shett Q-1 states that Type 12DD layout should be used for the guardrail. This is inconsistent with what the plans and quantities call out. Please tell us the proper layout so we can figure out what to install in the solid rock that is requiring guardrail installation.
