Inquiry #27: See X-1 for reference. Typical cross section shows a sawcut required 1' inside existing ETW. Based on proposed Section F (0.42' overall depth), the sawcut won't cut through the entire depth of existing AC. If not, it appears a double sawcut is required to include the typical sawcut at the inside edge of proposed Section A also (this sawcut not shown on the detail). Please confirm the requirements. Note this occurs on several other typical sections as well.

Inquiry #51: Addendum 1
Revised Plan Sheet 445 ED-1 removing the majority of the fiber optic components from the controller cabinet. This makes sense being there is no fiber optic system existing or being installed as new on this project. However notes 7 & 8 were left in place, these items are not required for a functioning system.
Please advise if these items will also be removed from the project?

Inquiry #52: Addendum 1
Revised Plan Sheet 445 ED-1 removes the majority of the fiber optic components from the controller cabinet. However sheet 446 ED-2 is still showing all the fiber optic equipment as being installed. This equipment not necessary for a fully functioning system.
Please advise if Cal Trans intends to remove the fiber optic components from the project?

Inquiry #57: Regarding bid item 86, 14” x 23” Reinforced Concrete Pipe Arch and bid item 97, 14” x 23” Concrete Flared End Section, would Caltrans consider changing the pipe/FES to corrugated steel pipe arch or a standard RCP size? This question is prompted due to the inability to find a manufacture that will produce this uncommon size with this minor quantity.

Response #2:(BI#58)-The updated Bidx.com New Roads view for the proposal requires a four digit item line number naming convention (0001, 0002, 0003...) to be used. If single digit numbers used, numbers will be out of order and not in correct numerical section order. This project has 170 bid items. Bid per current bid documents.

Inquiry #59: Bid Item 0077 - 560226 Furnish Sign Structure (Versatile) - Addendum 4 appears to be making the CMS's (location 7 & 20 - AKA CMS 1 and CMS 3) a new Model 800 CMS structure however these are still bidding as Versatile Truss CMS's and the details found on SD-5 and SD-7 are for a Versatile Truss and NOT a Model 800 design. Which are you trying to bid? The callouts conflict with each other - the new CMS Model 800 design found in Add 4 sheets SES-8 to SES-20 cannot be a Versatile Truss design and thus cannot bid under the Versatile Truss bid item and would need their own bid item.
