Inquiry #8: The contract plans and specifications require the replacement of all of the approach slabs on the project, and include the construction of paving notch extensions. Rapid set concrete is not specified for either bid item. This implies that these items are to be constructed with standard concrete.

The project staging plans only provide for long term closures for a portion of SB traffic. The lane closure charts for all other portions of the project allow only 6-10 hours for lane closures.

Is it the state's intention that approach slabs and paving notch extensions outside of the Stage 2 traffic be constructed under night time lane closures, with traffic restored daily? If so, please revise the specifications for the the approach slab concrete to include the rapid set concrete.
