Inquiry #1: Please refer to Section 48-3.02B of the Special Provisions. The specification requires, "For bridge no. no. 28-0137R, temporary supports must resist the described lateral design forces applied at the point where bearing assembly repair meets the superstructure.

It is standard practice to utilize the existing abutment in the temporary support system to
resist lateral forces.

Will the contractor be allowed to use the existing structures to resist lateral forces? Thank you.

Inquiry #2: There appears to be a discrepancy between the item quantities listed on the bid list and the quantity shown on the plans for access doors. The bid list shows two doors under bid item 26, and one door under bid item 43. The plans call out for four access doors on the Access Door Table on Sheet 13 of 18, and one access door at Appian Way, sheet 7 of 18, for a total of five. These are not Final Bid Items. Please advise as to how this discrepancy should be addressed in the quote.
