Inquiry #6: Please confirm the removal depth of the ADL Type Z-2 under Bid Item 13 is to be 6" only to match the depth of the Rock Blanket as the Special Provisions Section 14-11.08C states 6" to 16". If the depth is greater than 6", the ADL Type Z-2 excavation quantity will increase beyond the EE quantity.

Response #2:The removal depth of Roadway Excavation (Type Z-2) (Aerially Deposited Lead) ranges from 6" minimum to 12" maximum. This accounts for the excavation for the installation of Rock Blanket as well as the depth required to install the rock mulch, shown on Landscape Detail sheet LD-4.

Response #2:Please see plan sheet LD-4, Detail ‘Rock Mulch’. The ‘Rock’ in the detail is to be one layer of the rock placed on filter fabric on original grade of the 80' to 175' area. This includes the 36†wide by 12†deep key.
