Are the existing highway embankment soils to be excavated to build the Reinforced Embankment regarded as suitable to meet section 19-6.02B backfill requirements. Soil reports are not included in the Information Handout. How will the geosynthetic backfill be paid for?

Response #2:Please place your bid in accordance with the information presented in the cross sections and the quantity sheets of the contract the documents. The "Roadway Excavation" material as specified in this contract is a suitable material for this work.

Inquiry #2: Question #1: For Item #11 (K-Rail) The contract plan does not show pinning of the k-rails. Is pinning of the k-rail required? If so, how will we be paid for this work?
Question #2: For Item #51 (Modify Edge Drain)There is no detail in the contract plans that show what needs to be “Modified†Please advise.
