Inquiry #1: Plan Sheet No.18 indicates that 4 inch deep concrete expansion dams must be removed at each of the expansion joint locations for the Santa Maria River Bridge. There does not appear to be a bid item for "bridge removal" nor does there appear to be a quantity summary on the Santa Maria River Bridge plan sheet that indicates an item associated with the specified concrete expansion dam removal. Please clarify.

Inquiry #2: Plan Sheet 18/18, Section A-A, "Existing" shows the removal of 1'-0"x4" "existing concrete dams" on both sides of the expansion joint. The Engineer's Estimate does not provide a bid item for "Bridge Removal" respective of this bridge removal work, and the other bridge related bid items do not have incidental measurement and payment provisions including this work. Please indicate where the existing concrete dam removal is paid.
