Inquiry #3: Shape Inc. and I wish to submit to Cal Trans for pre-approval, the Flygt pump/motor selections for each of the ten (10) pump stations since the Flygt units that best meets the project documents design operating conditions vary in a number of significant ways from the Fairbanks pump/motor units that are noted. Some of the differences are in the following areas:
a) RPM
b) Nameplate Motor Horsepower - which ultimately might change the size of VFD"s and other electrical components in the pump system
e) pump's discharge / suction size
f) Type / design of the impeller being offered - the Flygt units will be fitted with the "N" impeller and have stationary cutter/relief groove insert plate with both components being constructed out of hard iron/high chrome. Solids size handling size of the impeller might not be a 3" sphere.
g) pump efficiency
h) noted design operating condition GPM @ TDH with motor nameplate HP - when reviewing the noted Fairbanks pump model / Motor HP demand being called out in the project documents, the stated performance requirements overloads the motor horsepower noted also in the documents.
