Inquiry #2: Per sheet 2 for the Hwy 41 Cross section, the contractor is to cold plane .10', repair failed areas .25' and then cap entire roadway with .17' HMA. Currently the requirement of the jobs special provisions for Repair failed areas 39-3.04A states " Schedule cold planing activities such that the pavement is cold planed, the HMA is placed, and the area is open to traffic during the same work shift:" It then states, " For locations not listed above, schedule cold planing activities such that not more than 24 hours elapses between the time the pavement is cold planed and the HMA is placed." This specification is not feasible for this construction project, as we have digouts underneath the existing pavement we are to cold plane. There is simply not enough time to cold plane, mark out digouts, remove and replace digouts and then cap entire cold planed area with .17' HMA. Will the State please revise the 24 hour requirement to a typical 7 day time frame?

Inquiry #4: Will the state please extend the amount of time a ground surface can be left? 5 Working days does not appear to be an adequate amount of time to mill the existing surface, temp stripe, fix digouts, crack seal and cover up with .17' HMA. Please consider extending the allowable time to 10 Working days
