Inquiry #1: Section 12-4.02C(7)(b) calls for a stationary lane closure length of 0.5 miles. These are all short duration closures. If we can only take 0.5 miles, we will be setting and picking up several closures each shift, creating confusion and longer queues for the public and more vulnerable situations for our construction crews. We would ask the State to consider longer closure lengths, as have been allowed in the other Striping projects that have recently bid.
