Inquiry #1: On plan sheet 5 of 31 (X-4) the typical cross sections show a .10' RHMA-G BWC, but no cold plane asphalt. Based on the quantity summary (sheet 9 of 31) should the contractor assume that regardless of the typical detail these areas will be cold planed .10'??

Inquiry #2: To add to inquiry #1, If the intent is to grind the perfectly good asphalt through town then the quantity is accurate. If the typical cross-sections reflect the scope of work, which I believe they do, then the cold plane item along the mainline should be closer to 15000 SY rather than 117,000 SY. Please advise.

Inquiry #3: Section 39-3.04A indicates contractor must pave back same shift, only the "Repair Failed Areas".

So all other areas can be opened back up to traffic for the allotted 5 days, Including specifically the 0.30' cold plane from PM 16.73 to 16.99?

Please advise.

Response #2:Yes, all other areas may be opened to traffic except the Repair Failed Area that must be paved back the same shift. The Repair Failed Area does include the 0.30 cold plane from 16.73 to 16.99 (see Quantity Sheet Q1, Repair Failed Area table) so this area has to be paved back during the same shift.
