Inquiry #2: In light of the unprecedented fires throughout California and California’s emphasis to build “resilient” infrastructure, will Caltrans follow its own High Design Manual Section 850-34 dated December 30th 2015 which warns against installing plastic pipe in areas with a potential for fire? This project lists Alternative Pipe Culvert in the Bid Schedule which includes plastic pipe as an acceptable product.

Inquiry #4: Item 52 Hydromulch and Item 53 Hydroseed listed on the bid schedule but no information listed on the planting plans in regards to where it will be applied or what is being requested as materials for these items. Please advise.

Inquiry #6: Section 39 special provisions calls to add to section 39-2.03(3)(a) "The grade of asphalt binder for RHMA-G must be PG64-10". I do not see a bid item for RHMA-G? If there is rubber on the project, will this require PG64-10?

Response #1:Only asphalt HMA Type A is required in this project, pay items 71 through 75 only type A is used.
