Inquiry #11: Drawing ST-1 and ST-27 show the "Equipment Access Grate". In it's final built condition the equipment access hatch is directly above the sump pump discharge pipe such that a scissor lift cannot be lowered into the pump station without first disassembling the pipe. This may provide a challenge for Caltrans for future maitenance should scissor lift access be needed to reach certain items in the plant. Is it possible to extend the "Equipment Access Grate" opening to the north by about 5' to 6' to allow easy unempeded access to lower a scissor lift into the hole should it be needed in the future. This will also help with ease of construction.
