Inquiry #2: Would it be acceptable to bore drainage system 5a (48” RCP) and drainage system 10a (24”RCP) as it runs across SR 14?

Response #1:The low bidder has the option of submitting a value engineering change proposal per Section 4-1.07 in the 2018 standard specifications to change the proposed construction. The project team will evaluate such a proposal as part of the contract at that time.

Inquiry #3: Is the volume shown for item 22, Department Generated Contaminated Soil, supposed to represent the volume of all material generated during excavation for drainage work? Including the removal of the existing structural section(s) and excluding the volume from existing pipes and structures?

If that's the case, the volume may be incorrect as there are sections deeper than what is shown on sheets C-3.

Inquiry #5: Please confirm Bid Item 59 "Concrete Barrier (Type K)" must be new material.

Please also confirm Item 63 "Remove Concrete Barrier" material is to be become the property of the Contractor to dispose of.

Inquiry #6: Special Provision, Section 99 - Building Construction, references Sanitary Facility Renovations. Please provide plans and details for this work.

Response #1:There are no toilet room renovations on this project. Section 99-1, subsection 1.9, ?Sanitary Facilities? refers to facilities the contractor should provide. Please bid per the current contract documents.

Inquiry #7: Per sheet W-3, 2 SST tanks will be installed in the precast concrete tank, please verify that these 2 SST tanks also will be provided by Caltrans along the Precast Conc. Tank (Note 3 , Sheet W2).

Inquiry #8: On plan sheet 47 (SCQ-1) the temporary yellow tape stripe for detail 25 is called out to be fluorescent yellow tape stripe. To my knowledge, fluorescent yellow tape stripe does not exist. If there is a known manufacturer of fluorescent yellow tape stripe that is on the Approved Products List, please provide the name of said manufacturer.
