Inquiry #4: The majority of the asphalt overlay work is not constructable in the #2 and #3 lanes as the traffic charts do not allow for a buffer lane. Please provide updated traffic charts to allow for 1 through traffic lane in order to accommodate for paving in the #2 and #3 lanes with a buffer lane between the paving operations and the traveled way. If updated traffic charts will not be provided, please describe how the contractor is to safely pave the #2 and #3 lanes. Page 110 of the Special Provisions ONLY allows us to work in a lane adjacent to traffic for grinding, grooving, saw cutting, and installing loop detectors.

Inquiry #6: Please provide an applicable standard specification or special provision for item 390025 SEGMENT CORRECTION. Revised Standard Specifications Section 39-2.10C(3)(e)(i) "applies to existing asphalt concrete surfaces". Summary of quantities sheets Q-4 and Q-5 indicate segment corrections in areas where there is no existing asphalt concrete, only pcc pavement.

Inquiry #7: Construction Details sheet C-21 shows an architectural surface treatment specific to "Concrete Barrier Type 60G (Mod)", yet this concrete barrier type is not used on this project.

Is architectural surface treatment required on all type 60 barrier? If so, could the department provide a detail for the various barrier types (60M, 60MC, 60MF, 60MG, and the transitions)?

Inquiry #9: Construction Details sheet C-17 shows a detail for tapering into existing pavement at structure approaches. The material type is shown as HMA (Type A). Please confirm that this is correct. Typically, the material type matches the the top lift of the 0.25' overlay that we are tying in to, meaning the material type would be RHMA-GG.
