Inquiry #1: According to Section 39-2.01C(3)(e) of the standard specifications, prepaving grinding is required for this roadway as the exceptions listed do not apply to this design strategy, but there is no bid item for it. Will prepaving grinding days be added to the bid package, or will final surface specifications be waved in areas that would need corrections, but do not receive them?

Inquiry #2: Is the .06' thickness shown on the plans really what Caltrans is wanting and have you verified the tonnage? Also the dig-outs show remove HMA but you have no HMA pay item for replacement. Do you want this replaced with RHMA?
