Inquiry #15: 1. Tech Spec 49-302B(6)(c) limits Shore Pac synthetic slurry to 33-74 sec/qt viscosity during drilling and less than or equal to 57 sec/qt immediately before placing concrete. Please confirm that the updated 5/6/22 Caltrans viscosity limits for Shore Pac at 33-132 sec/qt and 118 sec/qt respectively are permissible for this project.

2. Will AB-219, prevailing wages for concrete drivers, and LCP tracker fees apply to this project?

3. The bridge plans contain summarized boring logs, but the documents are missing the Geotechnical Investigation Report and Foundation Report. These reports typically provide geologic and hydrologic site context, soil lab testing results and interpretations, and professional conclusions including anticipated soil excavation behavior and foundation drilling means and methods.

4. Is CIDH installation restricted from any working hours, working periods, or seasons (such as wet season, mating season(s), nesting season(s), etc.) due to environmental permitting, USACE permitting, Fish and Game permitting, water board permitting, or other similar types of permitting?

5. Are there any USACE stipulations requiring temporary drill casing to be used for CIDH installation through earthen embankments/levees at the bridge abutments?

6. What are the provisions regarding conflicts of new and old pile locations? Will new CIDH piles be shifted to avoid conflicts?

7. Can you please provide an extension for bid submissions? The information to be provided in response to this RFI will have critical insights that will affect the price. To give you best services, we need more time to check all the parameters and give you proper estimation of the work.

Inquiry #16: Earthwork Quantities (Detour) on Sheet 135 indicate Imported Borrow for all 4 Detours is to be measured. Isn't it more likely that the Import from Detours 1 & 2 will be used for Detours 3 & 4 resulting in the Imported Borrow quantity decreasing by close to 50% and Roadway Excavation increasing substantially?
Inquiry submitted 10/13/2022

Response #1:The Earthwork for fill located at the middle section of Detours 1 and 2 will remain in place, reducing the fill volume needed for Detours 3 and 4. Fill needed for Detours 3 and 4 will be sourced from Detours 1 and 2. Finally, the excavation quantity includes the fill which originated from Detours 1 and 2 will be used for Detours 3 and 4.
