Submit new inquiry for this project

Inquiry #1: Section 14-6.03D(1) paragraph 3 states: "A contractor supplied biologist will be "partially present" (quotation marks added) during construction activities for the duration of the proposed project to ensure that all practicable measures are being employed to avoid incidental disturbance of habitat and species of concern."

Does the phrase "partially present" mean once per week or twice per week? We cannot make this determination with specific direction from Caltrans.

Also, please provide a copy of the NES for the project.

Thank you.

A. The contractor supplied biologist estimate is based off an estimated twice a week to monitor desert tortoise particularly for checking under vehicle equipment. There is no NESMI for this project. A no effect memo was issued for this project.

Q. Also, please provide a copy of the NES for the project.

The NES document will not be provided. Please refer to Section 14 (Environmental Stewardship) of the Special Provisions for all environmental requirements.

Inquiry #3: 1)The Typical sections show we are replacing asphalt in both north and south bound lanes,The quantity sheet only gives post mile and 3000 lf length and 6 ft. width.
this is very difficult to bid if we don't know which lane and how many dig outs or in the 3000 lf. This can make a big difference in the price. Can Cal Trans give sone clarification on the number of dig outs and what lane?
2) the same thing applies to the stripe quantities. On route 18 the project is 19 mile long but you are only removing and installing smal quantities. What lane and where are the
locations ?
