Inquiry #1: On Plan Sheet 5 of 31. Temporary Water Pollution Control.
The plan shows temp sheet piling or equivalent. Is this plan for De-watering the ground water, where expected at 1' below surface?
The Plan also show an pump to pump up to 4 CFS is this per minute?

Can Caltrans provide an detail for the Minor Concrete (Backfill) looking at the profile sheets.
1. Is Minor Concrete Backfill concrete pavement?
2. If it is concrete pavement. Will you require dowel baskets?
3. If it is concrete pavement . Can you provide an thickness for concrete pavement?
4. On Drainage Plan and Profile sheet you show the Minor concrete (Backfill) extending out onto the slope. Is this slope paving? If so how thick is the minor concrete?

Inquiry #2: On plan sheet 12 of 31 (SC-1) The plans show placing 0.25' HMA (type A) Over 0.50 Class 2 Base. on the north side of Route 178.
On plan sheet 15 of 31 (SC-4) The plans show removing the north half of Route 178.
Question is why are you placing 0.25 HMA over 0.50 Class 2 base on stage 1 on the north side of Route 178? Should it be place at the end of Stage 2. So you can switch traffic to the north side of Route 178?

Inquiry #6: Shoshone Caltrans 09-363404 project. I see the box culverts are listed as a precast item, and the portion of RCB called end treatment is the only part that will be cast in place.
I see bid item #30 is for the RCB. And Bid item #31 is for the end treatment.
Bid item #30 has estimated quantity of 1,510 LB, I have come up with 16,700 LB, just the cutoff walls for drainage system 1 & 2 RCB’s come to over 1,400 LB.
My question is, am I missing something or is the bid schedule wrong?
The detail on sheet C-1 / page 3 mentions “a” bars the same as the RCB. The RCB is precast and has wire not rebar, so I have to use a Caltrans D80 detail for a 5’W x 2’H RCB, the “a” bar would be a #7, then incorporate the additional rebar called out in the detail.
Do you have any information that will help me figure this out?

Response #1:An addendum will be issued to address this inquiry.

Inquiry #7: Is Caltrans going to require a hot drop mix design verification? For 190 Tons of HMA it seems an unnecessary cost to the state.
