Inquiry #2: Bid Item #54 for RECONSTRUCT FENCE needs clarification on what height and type of fence is to be reconstructed. We could not find any information, drawing or picture of the fence that is to be reconstructed. Please clarify the height and type of fence that is to be reconstructed.

Inquiry #3: Quantities of 689 LF for Drill and Bond Dowels, bid item 42 are shown on sheet 111/123. However, per the plans sheets there are approximately 1,280 dowels for the diaphragm bolsters, approximately 830 dowels for inside overhang and approximately 1,320 dowels for the haunch at the existing wing walls. Please clarify which dowels are paid under item 42.

Response #2:Bid item no. 42 Drill and Bond Dowel includes the drill and bond work shown on sheets 116 and 119 for overhangs and wingwalls. Bid item no. 42 Drill and Bond Dowel does not include the drill and bond work shown on sheet 115 for diaphragm bolsters. This drill and bond work is included in the bid item no. 41 Diaphragm Bolster. Refer to sections 1-1.01 and 9-1.03 of the Standard Specifications and section 51-1.03E(11) of the special provisions.

Inquiry #4: ITEM #67 CONCRETE BARRIER, TYPE 60MG MODIFIED:
This Barrier is of variable height. I find no information in the Plans & Specs with which to determine the variable offsets. This is necessary to calculate quantities of concrete & rebar, and production durations. Please provide pavement elevations at the toe-of-Barrier on each side, X-sections, or some method of determining the variable offsets.

Inquiry #5: For the Chain Link Railing (Type 7 Modified) there are to two different bridges having two different heights for the chain link fabric. Please confirm that the Chain Link Railing (Type 7 Modified) at both bridges are to have a galvanized finish.

Inquiry #6: Per instruction to bidder there is no DVBE goal on this project, but there is a DVBE incentive. In order to claim the incentive, the Certified DVBE Summary form DES-OE-0102.5 is to be submitted with the electronic bid package, and the back up information to be submitted 4 business day later.
Is this the intention of Caltrans in order to create equal fair bidding to all bidders by requesting that the form need to be submitted at bid time?

Inquiry #7: The plans have West Modesto Overhead listed as bridge #38-0083. The barrier on the bridge has 38-0085 painted on it. Just checking, are they the same bridge?
