Inquiry #3: On sheet X-2, Typical cross sections are shown with Edge Treatment adjacent to the CRCP section. These edge treatments/ safety edges are intended to be concrete, however on the Summary of Quantities sheet Q-1 Roadway Items table, Edge treatments are shown as 2,166.9 Tons of HMA. Will the state please adjust the bid item quantities in question, specifically 49 (HMA) and 57 (CRCP) to reflect the edge treatments as CRCP and not HMA?

Inquiry #5: At the outside shoulder we cold mill 0.15' 10' wide. Then we remove existing asphalt 0.30' and AB 0.30' to construct 0.60' HMA. Is the removal of the 0.30' existing asphalt considered part of the roadway excavation item(bid Item #38)? Is the furnish and installation of the .60' HMA considered part of the HMA(Bid item #49)

Inquiry #16: On the Fiber Optic Cable System drawings E-27 through E-56 the note 67 is utilized at what appears to be new Vault locations. Note 67 is outlined on sheet E-2 and states: "NOTE USED". As it stands right now every vault depicted on the drawings and noted 67 does not get a new vault. Is that the departments intent ? If the department wants new vaults then please correct note 67 on E-2.

Inquiry #18: Please refer to the traffic handling details on sheets THD-2 and THD-3. Is it correct that both traffic control systems will be required for the project (lane/shoulder closures and twenty-four seven work zone)? Additionally, if twenty-four seven is required please confirm that the G20-5AP, R2-1, and vehicle speed feedback signs will required every 2 miles (as per note 1.A) as the length of the project is between 2 to 10 miles.

Response #2:You are correct, and the G-20-5AP, R2-1 and vehicle speed feedback signs are required every 2 miles. Plan Sheet THD-3 includes the WZ traffic control speed limit reduction for the lane and/or shoulder closures required to place the K-rail.

Inquiry #20: note 68 states use detail on sheet ED-8, but the trench detail shows 4-2 inch conduits but the description on the notes for example E-27 says only 2-2 inch conduit, are we supposed to bid the 2 inch hdpe using the trench detail and assuming its 4-2 inch conduits or per each individual drawing where it notes 2-2 inch conduit and assume it is as written on the drawing E-27. Which supersedes which detail or notes on specific drawing.

Inquiry #21: Addendum #3 added Wide Flange Beam Terminals, which include LCB RSC, Joint Seal Type A and Joint Seal Type B. The Addendum did not add additional quantities, or bid items. Will an Addendum be issued to address how these items will be paid for?
Additionally, Caltrans on current CRCP projects in District 5 and 6 are deleting the Wide Flange Beams from the contracts.
