Inquiry #2: For Bid Items 50, 51 and 52 Approach Slab work could the State please tell us how the removal of the existing structures will be paid for? It currently appears that the removal is paid for under Bid Item 36 Roadway Excavation. Please confirm that is correct.

Response #2:The quantity is included in roadway excavation. Removal of the existing structures is paid for under the Standard Specifications, section 51-5.03D, Type R approach slab, not under Bid Item 36, roadway excavation. Refer to the Standard Specifications, section 51-5.03D(2) for removal requirements. Bid per current contract documents.
