Inquiry #1: On sheet X-3 of the plans, the first cross section from PM 31.24-38.90 lists that the limits of cold planing are from edge of shoulder to edge of shoulder. Cold planing depth is only listed for the 0.33' areas listed as "repair failed areas". What would be the cold planing depth for the entire roadway?

Inquiry #2: Bid Item 78 Call out Midwest Guardrail (8' Post). However, Special Provisions Section 83-2.02C(1)(a) states that wood posts are required.

According to RSP A77N3 for Narrow roadway installation you are to use 8x8x7' Wood posts or W6x8.5 or W6x9 steel post 8' in length.

Please confirm the Type of Posts (Wood or Steel) required for the Midwest Guardrail 8' Post Bid Item?

Inquiry #3: Section 14-6.03A Environmental Stewardship calls for the "Entire Project Limits" to have species protection. The monitoring chart states "Daily" species regulation from the "Contractor Supplied Biologist". Is the intent of to have a biologist onsite for the entire duration of the project / 120 working days?

Response #2:Attention is directed to section 14-6.03D, “Contractor-Supplied Biologist” of the Standard Specifications. “The Contractor-supplied biologist monitors work activities for the protection of regulated species.” If there are work activities on site that have the potential for impacts as specified by the contract the “Contractor-Supplied Biologist” has an obligation to be on-site to monitor the work activities. Place your bid it accordance with the contract documents.
