Inquiry #1: Please review and resolve the current "Warranty" issues as relate to the Striping Bid Items. You can reference Bidders Inquiry on
11-411104, this is a result of discrepancies between the Caltrans Specs and what the product Manufacturer will "Warranty"
absent this, just issue an Addendum changing the Bid Item wording from "Warranty" to (Enhanced Wet Night Visibility) which would solve the problem and save considerable money ..

Inquiry #2: 1. Per the summary of quantities it states Longitudinal Joints are to be re-sealed and it does not state any transverse Joints. Are only Longitudinal Joints to be re-sealed? Please advise.

2. What is the existing Width of the Joints that are to be re-Sealed and what are they currently Sealed with?

Inquiry #3: Please provide PPF files for the main travel lanes that will be receiving the bid item 'Grind Existing Concrete Pavement' so that a smoothness analysis can be conducted allowing a proper bid.

Inquiry #5: The bid schedule does not include a bid item for Vegetation Control and is not identified on the layout drawings or quantity sheets. Is Vegetation Control required on this project as part of the Midwest Guardrail System?

Inquiry #6: The following paragraph exists on on page 14 of the special provisions for this contact:

From 12:00 p.m. on the day before Thanksgiving to 12:01 a.m. on January 2 of the next year, do not
perform work that encroaches onto the traveled way at the interchanges listed in the table titled "Seasonal
Shopping". Only closure charts stating they may be used during Seasonal Shopping are permitted during
this period.

Charts G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, of Section 12-4.02C(3)(g) charts I1, I2, I3, I4, I5, I6, I7, I8, I9I10 of Section 12-4.02C(3)(i) charts J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6 of Section 12-4.02C(3)(j) and M1, and M2 of Section 12-4.02C(3)(m) don't allow encroachments into the traveled way or shoulders during the seasonal shopping period identified above. Without lane closures most of the work can't proceed on this project during the seasonal shopping time period. Will the Department measure working days during the seasonal shopping time period?
