Inquiry #1: Section 12-3.11C(3) states that 2 96 by 60 inch construction funding signs are required. The plans, sheet CS-1 (Page 37), only requires 1 sign. Does Caltrans want 2 signs or just 1? Please remedy via addendum.

Inquiry #2: Section 7-1.02K(6)(j)(iii), 3rd paragraph states "Lead at unregulated concentrations is found at a depth of 2.5 feet below existing grade to the total depth of excavation throughout the job site. Reuse all of this excavated material on the right-of-way."

Section 14-11.08 addresses materials from 0 feet to 2.5 feet below existing grade outside of the traveled way.

Please confirm that Caltrans will only pay for Type Z-2 Aerially deposited Lead Roadway Excavation per section 12-11.08 and confirm that Caltrans will pay standard Roadway Excavation quantity for all excavated material below 2.5 feet from existing grade to the total depth of excavation per the plans.

Inquiry #5: Portions of the existing traffic handling conditions onsite are not accurately depicted in the project plans. Currently, the right shoulder is being used as a temporary bike path from approximately Station 1420+00 to 1436+00. The site contains k-rail on the right shoulder and a re-striped mainline to accommodate this temporary bike path. Additionally, new HMA was placed onsite connecting the existing and temporary bike path. Will these improvements be removed and the project returned to the original conditions per plan prior to the start of work?

Inquiry #6: Portions of the existing contour grades are different from those depicted in the project plans. A new colored concrete ditch was installation at the right edge of the project limits from Station 1430+00 to 1436+00 by an adjacent project. To accommodate this new ditch, the right dirt shoulder was cut and re-graded to a steeper contour. Will these improvements be removed and the site re-graded to the original conditions per plan prior to the start of work?

Inquiry #7: Plan sheets 63 through 65 detail the plant removal plan. Specifically the note on page 63 direct the Contractor to remove “dead tree stumps and fallen branches”. However, upon visiting the site, there are a number of full height trees which conflict with the project improvements. These trees have been identified onsite with a white ribbon and white “x”. Are these trees to be removed?
