Inquiry #2: Roadway excavation quantities do not match the excavation quantities for concrete grid units. For example, the quantity for concrete grid unit on LL-2 is 2,500 SF and excavation depth is 6" for class 2 and 2" for sand bed, totaling 61.7 CY for the concrete grid unit. However, the plan shows only 20 CY of road excavation. Please explain how 20 CY came up with.

Inquiry #3: For the Drivable Grass product which meets the specifications for the Concrete Grid Units as shown on sheet LD-3 a 1/2" of bedding sand is recommended when the infill is fine aggregate. The 2" bedding sand layer indicated on the detail exceeds the specifications provided by the manufacturer. Can the 2" layer be reduced for the Drivable Grass product?

Inquiry #4: Based on our site visit some of the existing planted areas has been covered by mulch material. Please clarify if new mulch material can be installed over the existing mulch. If existing mulch removal is required, which bid item would cover the cost of this operation?

Inquiry #6: Per our site visit we noticed there are some existing trees located within roadside clearing area shown on planting plan sheet PP-1, but there are no notes showing those existing trees shall remain. Please advise what work should be performed for the existing trees that do not have any notes.

Inquiry #7: The detail provided by the manufacturer of the concrete grid mats indicates a need for perimeter containment beyond existing grade due to potential vehicular access. I notice the 8" spikes - 2 per mat. Is any edge confinement required for this installation?
