Inquiry #3: Submitting two questions for clarification detailed in Addendum 1:
1. 87-9.01D(4)(b) TPAS Analytics Processor
a. The requirement calls out to Furnish 5-years of software, hardware, license, and maintenance support. The support must include: periodic calibration, troubleshooting assistance, software updates, security patches, 4-hour remote issues initial response….Please define what “Periodic Calibration” means as needed within the 5-years of support. Is this for the TPAS Service provider to “ground truth” and verify the data from each rest area on a daily basis as the other I-10 Coalition States have required? Specifically, twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening as other states have required.

2. 87-9.02B TPAS Analytics Processor
a. Item 7 states the Software “Be able to operate on a virtual or physical server located in the TMC server room without internet access.” Is it Caltrans intent to limit the TPAS Software and Analytics locally on Caltrans Network Only, or is the Department open to a Cloud architecture that aligns with the surrounding I-10 Coalition States, where the TPAS Software is Hosted and allows truck parking data to be shared State-to-State? Please clarify.

Response #1:Please bid per current contract documents

Inquiry #4: Could CALTRANS please confirm which would take precedence between equipment quantities listed in the drawing plans/specifications versus the manufacturers recommendation of more or less equipment to meet the system functionality.
Inquiry submitted 05/29/2023

Response #1:Please bid per current contract documents
Response posted 05/30/2023

Response #2:The bidding should be based on the quantity listed in the plans. If there is excess equipment Caltrans will add to inventory as spare parts. If there is an insufficiency issue, Caltrans will need to do a change during construction to make a functional system. The contractor will need to demonstrate the need for this change, since Caltrans engineers believe the quantities listed are sufficient.
