Inquiry #2: Reference Special Provision Section 79-1.02 Materials (Trenchless Culvert Installation). Is there a preferred material to be used for the Trenchless Culvert of Drainage System 0.50? There is no indication of which of the 3 materials is to be used within the Plan Set or Special Provisions.

Inquiry #3: 1) Per Addendum 1, PDQ sheets were revised to read "Thermoplastic Pavement Marking (Paint)". Is the intent to install Thermoplastic Pavement Markings or Paint Pavement Markings? 2) Sheet PDQ-7 shows Thermoplastic Pavement Marking (Recessed), however, there is no bid item for recessed pavement markings provided. Please provide bid item for this item.

Inquiry #4: Caltrans in Addendum 2 Plans changed the item description from "Thermoplastic Pavement Markings (Sprayable)" to "Thermoplastic Pavement Markings (Paint)". Please clarify that the markings for the Bid Item 128 are being applied at normal extruded methods.

Also on Page 207 of the plan pages there is a item for Thermoplastic Pavement Marking (Recessed) but there is no corresponding Bid Item for it.

Inquiry #5: Please clarify the following in regards to Sheet ECL-1:
1. Bonded Fiber Matrix application rate at 1,500 LBS/AC is less than the minimal typical manufacturer's rate. Please advise.
2. Bonded Fiber Matrix does not include Fertilizer, Compost or Mycorrhizae. These components are separate items mixed on site and applied simultaneously. Therefore, please provide application rates for Fertilizer and Mycorrhizae. For Compost, please specify type and depth of application.

Inquiry #6: Regarding Item 46 "Rail Element Wall" Typically the contractor can salvage removed guardrail panels from the project to utilize in constructing the REW. This project has a salvage guardrail item on it so that material will be unavailable for contractor use. Will we be allowed to utilize used guardrail panels from other projects to build the REW or will all new material be required?

Inquiry #7: Regarding Item #46 "Rail Element Wall" Typically the contactor is allowed to salvage and use the existing guardrail to build the guardrail retaining wall. As there is a salvage guardrail item on this project that material will not be available. Will the contractor be permitted to use salvaged / used guardrail from other projects to build the guardrail retaining wall?
