Inquiry #2: Bid Item 1 is for a Lead Compliance Plan

Section 14 in the Special Provisions is void of any information pertaining to lead.

There is no lead survey results in the Information Handout.

Where does the State anticipate that the Contractor will encounter lead on this project and what is the concentration of lead where it will be encountered?

Response #2:(BI#2)-Low levels of ADL are present along the shoulders of Route 80. Your attention is directed to section 7-1.02K(6)(j)(iii) of the special provisions.

Inquiry #3: Section 78-24.02C of the SPs requires that the epoxy meet Section 95 for Load Bearing Applications.

Section 95 of the Standard Specs states that "epoxy must comply with ASTM C881/C881M, Type IV, Grade 1, Class B or C." for Load Bearing Applications

All of the epoxy on the AML meet this criteria except for the Grade 1 requirement All of them are Grade 3.

ASTM C881 Grade 1 is "low viscosity", Grade 2 is "medium viscosity", and Grade 3 is "non sag".

Will it be acceptable to use an epoxy that meets epoxy must comply with ASTM C881/C881M, Type IV, Class B or C, Grade 3 instead of Grade 1?

Inquiry #5: Three are numerous rocks along the roads that serve as access to the work.

Will it be acceptable to move the rocks out of the way and leave them along the high side of the existing access roads?

Inquiry #6: SP Section 78-24.03B Installation states that "The cable net drapery must be held up at the elevation it is at when it is disconnected while removal of the existing posts and installation of the new posts is completed."

Has the State considered how many of the existing posts may be removed at one time or what functional capacity will be required of the existing attenuator during construction?
