but on the clearing plans sheet RC-1 the trees at sta 329+75 to 330+75 show to remain please review and update your clearing plan to include the GRE embankment area.

Inquiry #2: after review of the plans and information handout there is a area that is unclear to what the state if looking for in the GRE area.
on page 4 of the information hand out in the Figure 1 - typical geosynthetic reinforced embankment Cross section it shows a Tensar TB1000 erosion blanket to be installed over the face of the slope. but on sheet C-2 of the plan set the Tensar TB1000 is not showing is it the states intent to not install the Tensar TB1000?

Inquiry #6: Does the roadway excavation material generated in stage 2 meet the requirements for backfill of the Geosynthetic Reinforced Embankment? Is that backfill quantity included in the Engineer's quantities for embankment shown on Sheets THQ-1 and Q-1?

Inquiry #7: The staging on this project requires there be import and export (import in Stage 2 and export in Stage 3). Yet there is currently not an Imported Borrow item in the bid schedule. How will Caltrans handle payment for this item?

Inquiry #8: Regarding 03-1F1904. Because of the staging this project will have Imported Borrow. Phase 2 will need to include import and Phase 3 will have export. There currently is not a Imported Borrow item, how will Imported Borrow be paid?

Inquiry #9: On sheet 17 of the plan set it call outs for (rock slope protection no 2 , method B) and in (rock slope protection fabric class 8)
it shows this work to be preformed from sta 329+00 to 375+00 on HSBO line. It looks like there is a mistake in the stationing or the project limits of the job is wrong.

Inquiry #12: after review of addendum 3 and the addition of bid item 111 temporary pedestrian access is Caltrans going to redesign the K-rail lay out for the onramp from south bound Howe Ave to provide pedestrian access? This shouldn't fall on to the contractor to design and submit to the state.

(#12)K-rail length can be shortened to end crash cushions before the crossing to maximize the use of existing crossing during construction. However, TPAR is needed when work is being performed close to the crossing.

Inquiry #14: Section 13-3.11B(5) of the special provisions appears to be written using the old specification. Can you please verify what size the project funding sign should be?
