Inquiry #1: Will Caltrans consider extending the available working hours in Traffic Chart G3 and G4? These charts allow a maximum of 5 hours for the middle lane and 8 hours for the other lanes for available work hours. The 2018 Standard Specifications Section 60-3.04B(3)(c) Placing Polyester Concrete states "Protect the overlay from moisture for at least 4 hours after finishing. Do not allow traffic or equipment on the overlay for at least 4 hours after final finishing." With this Specification Section combined with the limited lane closure charts, there is virtually no time for a contractor to place the polyester concrete overlay. Please advise if there will be any changes made to the traffic charts or the specification section.

Inquiry #2: In order to ensure a more competitive bid, could Caltrans please answer : Would Caltrans consider a switch to the polyester concrete cure time from the outdated spec of a 4 hour cure to a 2 hour cure time with rebound hammer value of 28? That would create a lower price for the owner, with no sacrifice of quality.
