Inquiry #1: The plans do not show one run of K-Rail in Stage 1A for the "S" Line. Should there be two runs in order to protect the falsework at both abutments?

Inquiry #2: At the bridge structures, the approach slab concrete quantity appears to being replaced in their entirety. The staging plans do not show when or talk about when the approach slabs will be replaced. Can you confirm either the approach slab quantity is stated wrong or provide staging plans to incorporate this work, as a nightly lane closure is not sufficient time to perform the work.

Inquiry #3: On plan sheet SC-1 Stage Construction and Traffic Handling Index Sheet note 10 for Stage 1A construction state's "Const bridge and both abutment at feather river blvd uc and north abutment at south marysville uc" I cannot find any notes on stage construction index sheet in regards to the construction of the south abutment at south marysville uc. The south marysville UC general plan sheet shows construction of widening in stage 1 work. Please advise when the south abutment is to be constructed at south marysville uc widen.

Inquiry #4: When do you construct the new approach slabs for the number 2 lanes for the existing bridge structure. It appears the phasing and staging plans do not address or show how this will be completed.

Response #1:(BI#5)-Please refer to section 51-5.02C of the Standard Specifications. If the approach slab concrete cannot be cured for at least 5 days before opening to traffic, then RSC must be used.

Inquiry #9: In Addendum 2 Note 8 states to install the approach slabs and polyester overlays under temporary traffic control. The polyester overlay is easy to understand, but how is the approach slabs to be constructed when you have to dig them out, construct a new paving notch at the existing bridge, place the reinforcing steel, and then place concrete for the new approach slab in an approximate 8 hour window. There doesn't appear to be enough time to construct these in the time given.
