4. Areas requiring hand work.
As this project is only using a Type 2 Slurry Seal, not Type 3 Micro-Surfacing and has numerous starts and stops at Intersections (Stop Lights / Stop Signs), why is Caltrans restricting truck mounted mixers from applying the job. Everyone agency in California uses the truck mounts everyday to do these exact types of arterial roadways with great success. Only Caltrans is restricting this to a continuous machine. There is no justification for mandating the continous. Will you please consider eliminating this restriction and open the project up to your normal specifications to use either truck mount or continuous.
