Inquiry #1: The Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer quantity is 163,000 syds. The Cold Plane AC Pavement quantity is also 163,000 syds. Only structural Section #1 (0.30' grind) gets the GPI, not Section # 3 (0.20' grind). Please correct the GPI bid item quantity.

Inquiry #3: Typical X-Sections X-4 (Sta 755+00 - 818+08) -- This section does not accurately detail the actual site conditions at the outside shoulders. At these areas, adjacent to the #4 lane in both directions, there is a Type E Curb at the ETW. This curb is not detailed on the plans. The asphalt pavement at the shoulders is adjacent to the curb. This detail should be corrected.

Inquiry #4: Sheet X-1 -- Pavement Structural Section #2 calls for 0.2' Cold Plane with 0.1' RHMA-G and 0.1' RHMA OGFC. A lot of the Section 2 work occurs in the median adjacent to the concrete barrier. In many cases, the width of work is 0.5' to 2.0' wide. Does it makes sense to have the RHMA-OGFC in this narrow slot, and adjacent to concrete pavement. The use of 0.2' of RHMA-G should be considered at these areas.

Inquiry #6: Paving Structural Section #1 on X-1 - calls for 0.3' of Cold Plane, 0.1' RHMA OGFC, 0.1' RHMA, GPI, 0.1' RHMA.
The GPI is covered with 0.1' of RHMA. Section 39-2.01C(3)(g) of the Standards states "The minimum thickness over the interlayer must be 0.12 foot including at conform tapers."
The design is difficult to build as it requires cold plane and 2-kifts of paving with GPI in the same short work shift. The design also does not meet the State Standard for cover on the GPI.

Inquiry #7: The existing structural paving section #A on X-1 includes 3 layers of AC at 0.1' thick each, or 0.3' overall. The 3 layers cover existing PRF.
The Cold Plane requirement for structural pave section #1 is 0.3' deep. The cold plane will end at the level of the existing PRF, making its removal difficult. Since the PRF is not in the Cold Plane section, how will the State compensate for its removal?
