Inquiry #4: The Staging plans call for installing the OGFC after installing the concrete barriers and MGS. What grades do we set the concrete barriers and MGS based on the RHMAG or the 0.1' OGFC? There would be several months in between the RHMAG and OGFC at whatever grades you choose.

Inquiry #5: With reference to plan sheet #124 (SC-1) and plan sheet #148 (SC-25); Stage 1 has the contractor cold planing and placing RHMA and Stage 3 has the contractor constructing the 13 each Retaining Walls and Reconstructing the existing shoulder.
It seems like the Retaining Walls and Reconstruct the existing shoulders should be done during Stage 1 construction and completed before cold planing and placing RHMA.

Inquiry #11: Per the spec 78-4.07B, it states to not stain inside crash cushions or crash cushion face plates indicated they will require staining. However, per plan page Q-3 of the midwest guardrail quantities, it is only calling for staining partial of the total guardrail bid items which do not include any crash cushions. Could Caltrans confirm what amount galvanized items will require stain?

Inquiry #14: It appears on the Q-2 summary of quantities that L-15 - L-16 SB1 - Station 276+44 to 279+68 shows 7,755 SY of HFST. Please clarify whether this quantity is correct, my calculations come up with a significantly lower quantity for the 322 LF of roadway.

Inquiry #17: The CA High Design Manual Section 850-34 dated December 30th, 2015 warns against specifying plastic pipe in areas with a potential for fire. This project lists Alternative Pipe Culvert in the Bid Schedule. Will Caltrans still allow for plastic pipe to be used on this project?
