Inquiry #1: Per Lane Closure chart No. K2, lane closures are only allowed at night. The Conventional Chip Seal specified must be placed during the daylight hours to properly cure. The emulsion will not break properly at night. Please advise.

Inquiry #2: In regards to bidder inquiry #1, the below is on Page 7-4 of Caltrans' MTAG:

"Weather Considerations: Cold applied chip seals must be constructed during warm, dry weather and during the daytime only. Hot applied chip seals may be applied in cooler conditions and at night."

Inquiry #3: Lane closures are only allowed at night and the Chip Seal specified must be placed during the daylight hours to properly cure with adequate ambient Temperatures. Since the emulsion will not break properly at night, please consider changing the working hours to Daytime.
