Inquiry #1: This contract call for an extensive amount of Pavement Repairs utilizing new Hot Mix Asphalt. Per Caltrans MTAG Section 7.4.2 "Preparation", a Fog Seal is required prior to Chip Sealing. The Fog Seal quantity does not reflect this, how will the Fog Sealing of the new HMA be paid for?

Response #2:Per MTAG - 7.4.2 Preparation – A fog seal or tack coat prior to chip sealing may be required. Fog sealing is not required prior to all chip sealing projects and is not anticipated for this project. Place your bid accordingly to the current contract documents.

Inquiry #2: In regards to Inquiry #1, if the Chip Seal is changed to Asphalt Rubber Binder Chip Seal, the Fog Seal requirement of the new asphalt would not be needed.

Inquiry #3: The "Roadway Quantities" on Sheet Q-3 plans do not make sense for the measurements of the 2 locations. Should the quantities on the top row be for Route 119 and the quantities on the bottom row be for Route 33?
