Inquiry #4: The following questions are regarding plan sheet #14 (C-1):
1) "Minor Concrete (Textured Paving) 'Cobble'" is called out in the Expansion Joint detail. Is this intended to be actual rock cobble or a stamped pattern? If a pattern, will a detail be provided? If rock, what is the size range of rock diameter desired?
2) "Grout Joint Varies from 1/2" to 3/4"" is called out in the Typical 'Cobble' Layout detail. What is the O/C spacing desired for these grout joints? Are there special characteristics or color pigmentation requirements for the grout?

Inquiry submitted 08/16/2019

Response #1:1) The rock cobble textured paving will be a stamped pattern. The pattern is as shown in the contract plans, C-1: Construction Details. The rock cobble size to varies 4? min to 8? max. 2) As shown in the contract plans, the O/C spacing for the grout joints is 20? O/C. The grout color is to match the paving color, and will also be Canyon Stone Color (Federal Standard Number 36495).
Response posted 08/16/2019

Inquiry #5: Bidder Inquiry answer #4 indicates that there will be "grouted" joints in color of Canyon Stone. According to the expansion joint detail on C-1, it specifies "expanded polystyrene." It does not specify grout or a silicone joint filler in addition to the expanded polystyrene. Please clarify. Also, the Federal Standard Number 36495 is "light gray" according to the color chart. Please clarify.
Inquiry submitted 08/21/2019

Response #1:Per sheet C-1, the "Typical 'Cobble' Layout" plan view of the C-1 Construction Detail callout shows:

"EXPANSION JOINT FILL W/ PREMOLDED JOINT FILLER) 20'O/C PERPENDICULAR WITH OFF/ON RAMP"

Please match the joint filler with federal standard number 36495.

Also, per Construction Details sheet C-1, use Federal Standard Number 36495 (the color chart is correct, federal standard color website lists 36495 as "Light Gray").
