Inquiry #1: Since this project is primarily going to be night work, how will the homeless encampments be dealt with in terms of safety for our field workers.
Inquiry submitted 09/30/2019

Response #1:This work is scheduled to be primarily in the day. Based on the charts G1 and G2(mainline Route 101), day time work is possible Monday thru Friday. ?S? from 1000 to 1400 indicates that shoulder is allowed to be closed. Therefore, any work that requires only shoulder closure is allowed within those hours. And most of the on/off-ramps(charts J1-J41) are allowed to have day time shoulder or complete closures 7 days a week.
See Caltrans Maintenance Manual, Volume 1, Chapter 7 to review our illegal encampment removal policy.
