Inquiry #1: The project special provisions for the Potato Slough Bridge project 10-1F7604 states that the log of test borings is contained within the Information Handout (attachment #5). The log of test borings appears to be missing from the information handout. Will the State please supply the Log of test borings and any other geotechnical report information.

Inquiry #2: Please reference sheet 22 of 31 that calls for a temporary taper (rapid set concrete or polyester concrete) on either side of the decking plates. Once the taper is removed, will the State require the bridge deck to be returned to current condition? If so, what is the current bridge deck finish (i.e. grooved)?

Response #1:Yes, contractor is required to restore the bridge deck to its original conditions. Refer to sections 15-1.03A, 48-4.01C, and 48-4.03 of the Standard Specifications. The current bridge deck finish is not provided.

Inquiry #3: Per the log of test borings, it appears the ground water can be encountered approx. 3-4 feet below OG at the excavations for the jacking structure footings. It appears no bid item is dedicated for dewatering pricing. Will the State please confirm which bid item dewatering pricing should be included in?

Response #2:Refer to Addendum No. 2 dated October 7, 2021. Bid item no. 52, Structure Excavation (Type D) has replaced bid item no. 26, Structure Excavation (Bridge), section 19-3.03B(1) of the special provisions has been added, quantity decal has been revised on plan sheet 18 of 31, and a note has been added to plan sheet 27 of 31. Control and removal of ground or surface water is included in the bid item no. 52, Structure Excavation (Type D).

Inquiry #4: Bid Item 37 -- Structure Concrete, Bridge Footings @ 180 CY (F) -- Is the contractor required to remove the bridge footing concrete required for temporary bridge support after hinge reconstruction?
If it remains, does the contractor back fill and bury the footing?
If bridge footing is temporary, what is the method of payment for bridge footing removal work?

Response #2:Refer to section 48-3.03 of the special provisions and plan sheet 27 of 31. Bridge footings and piles for temporary supports are to remain in place after use.
Backfill of the footings is included in the bid item no. 27, Structure Backfill (Bridge).
