Inquiry #2: Note No. 6 on Irrigation sprinkler schedule ISS-1 says that all irrigation shown utilizes recycled water. Please verify that pipe must be purple and all sprinklers must be purple capped and labeled.

Inquiry #3: Most irrigation lines on Irrigation Plan IP-1 will be installed on the new 2:1 slope. Are these irrigation lines going to be installed above ground or below ground? It would be quite difficult to install irrigation lines below ground of 2:1 slope.

Inquiry #4: Plant Legend and Erosion Control Legend PL-2, Sheet 31 of 42, describes Sequence Step 4 Incorporate materials topsoil/compost 6" deep and Sequence Step 6 Incorporate materials straw 4" depth punched. This is for 2:1 slope area. How can topsoil/compost be incorporated 6" deep and straw be punched 4" deep on the 2:1 slope?

Inquiry #5: Regarding Inquiry #2 and Caltrans response to that, Special Provisions does not say anything about the irrigation water source. However, Plan ISSS-1 says that all irrigation shown utilizes recycled water. Please clarify whether the irrigation water is recycled water.

Inquiry #6:
For Item 50 straw, we want to know if we can use certified rice straw instead of certified wheat straw. Certified wheat straw is difficult to get and expensive. On large projects, CDOT typically specifies out the certified rice straw due to the cost and availability.
