Inquiry #3: Plan Sheet 2, X-1 Exhibit “Grind both lanes”, indicates grinding between certain stations (e.g., 1117+50–1118+00) but does not clarify other areas like 1116+00. Should potential bidders assume no grinding in these areas? Likewise, Exhibit “Level Both Lanes”  show similar conditions.

Inquiry #4: Plan Sheet 24, C-1 specifies a minimum leveling paving thickness of 0.00 foot and a maximum paving thickness of 0.18 foot, with mix design options ranging from 3/8-inch to 1/2-inch aggregates. Please specify appropriate gradations for these conditions.

Inquiry #5: Per 2024 - STD - Plan sheet A77N4 Note 10 "When installing MGS with Dike in areas requiring snow removal or frequently plowed area, Use 12" blocks." This is area consider a snow area and or frequently plowed? This is not listed in the specification as such an area. Specifications state to use plastic blocks without a size given. How is the contractor to determine such information and or what materials to be used? A77L2 & A77N1 both say to only use 12" blocks with a Type A Dike. This project does not have Type A dike, so per these two plan sheets 8" plastic blocks are allowed.

Inquiry #6: Regarding Bidder Inquiry Number 2 and Addendum 1. Addendum 1 did not clarify the DIPPA areas.

There is NO WHERE in the plans and specifications that instruct the bidder of what type of materials to use or the depth of incorporation. Moreover, there are no bid items to allow for the payment of this work. All the bidder has is some lines on the layout sheets saying there is a DIPPA.

Please provide details, quantities, and specifications for the DIPPA.

Inquiry #7: Regarding plan sheet C-3.

The plan sheet delineates that the contractor is to Remove Stumps 3'-0" to the left and right of the new Wildlife Fence.
The contractor is to Remove Trees from 5' to 15', 10' from the catch point.

Standard Specification Section 17-2.03A states,
Clear and grub the entire length of the job site to the following widths:
1. 5 feet outside of excavation and embankment slope lines where slopes are not rounded
2. Outside limits of slopes where slopes are rounded
3. 5 feet outside of structures
4. 2 feet outside of slope lines for ditches and channels with a bottom width of less than 12 feet
5. 5 feet outside of slope lines for ditches and channels with a bottom width of 12 feet or more

There are only pay items for Clearing and Grubbing and Remove Trees.

What is the pay limit for Clearing and Grubbing?
What is the pay method for Stump Removal?
