Inquiry #1: This project does not include a flush coat for the SAMI (Stress absorbing membrane interlayer). Standard Specification 37-2.05A states "Traffic must not be allowed on a SAMI". If a contractor elects to install a flush coat at its own cost can traffic be allowed on the SAMI?

Inquiry #3: Bid item #116 calls for 2 EA Alternative Crash Cushions TL-3. We are unable to locate those permanent crash cushions in the plans. Where will the permanent crash cushions be installed?

Inquiry #4: Majority of this rail and Crash Cushion getting replace is Natina Stained. Will the new rail require to be stain as well. Nothing is listed or shown in the specification.

Inquiry #5: The Lane Closure Chart K1 in special provision 12-4.02C(3)(k) remarks section states: "Only one closure is allowed at one time, per route." and the next line states, "Closure restrictions do not apply when a temporary barrier or signalized traffic control is in place." Does this mean that we are allowed to do a flagging closure on a section of the highway outside of the signalized closure concurrent with the signalized closure? Or is this remark only in reference to the hours where a closure is in place; for example the signalized closure is allowed 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
